Most health insurance policies provide some coverage for mental health treatment. It is very important to find out exactly what mental health services your insurance company covers, i.e., number of sessions allowed yearly for individual and for family. Please note that I do not participate with any insurance company and I cannot and do not make any representation that the services performed by me will be reimbursed by your insurance company.
You should be aware that most insurance companies require you to authorize me to provide them with a clinical diagnosis. Occasionally, I have to provide additional information such as treatment plans and summaries. This information will become part of the insurance company’s files. If you have out of network mental health insurance benefits, you may be able to use them to pay for a portion of my services. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA), you can probably use money from this to pay for therapy. I will give you with a receipt for services, which includes the date and time of service, my licensing information, and diagnosis and procedure codes. It is important for you to contact your insurance company to learn the specifics about what and how much they will cover, what you need to do to obtain reimbursement, and whether they require a treatment plan. If so, with your permission, I will be glad to submit one for you.
FEES AND INSURANCE
Billing and Payments
I accept checks and cash. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA), you can probably use money from this to pay for our work together. I ask people to pay for their appointments at the time of service, unless we agree otherwise. At the end of the month, you will receive an invoice with all procedural codes to submit to your insurance company.
The time scheduled for your appointment is assigned to you and you alone. If you need to cancel an appointment, please provide me with 24 hours notice. If you miss a session without canceling or cancel with less than 24 hours notice, my policy is to collect 50% of your usual fee. These missed sessions cannot be billed to your insurance company.
