About Dr. Slattery
Dr. Slattery is a licensed psychologist in Maryland and Washington, DC. Dr. Slattery is authorized to practice telepsychology by PsyPact (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) across state lines with clients in other PsyPact states.

Dr. Slattery holds two doctoral degrees. Her first Ph.D. was earned from the American University and is in Education/Special Education/Learning Disabilities. Dr. Slattery earned her second doctoral degree from the George Washington University in Clinical Psychology, Child and Adolescent. In addition, she completed a postdoctoral program in neuropsychology. Dr. Slattery has advanced training and/or certification in cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for children with problematic sexual behaviors. The majority of Dr. Slattery’s 30+ year career has been spent in the fields of education and psychology working with children, teens and their families.
Dr. Slattery’s practice focuses on children, adolescents, and their families. She sees children ages two and one half and above. Because Dr. Slattery views children as living and functioning within the context of a system, her treatment includes parents, guardians, siblings, teachers, coaches, etc. Dr. Slattery has spent many years working in and with various schools in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia and is therefore very comfortable and familiar working with teachers and administrators in that setting.
In addition, to individual therapy, Dr. Slattery possesses an expertise in psycho-educational and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents and young adults. Dr. Slattery also performs admissions assessments for all area Independent schools.
